On Saturday, we went for a walk through Bristol with the intention of finding the Cabot Tower, which we had been told gives great views of Bristol and the surrounding country side.

Old Docks and Alvis Car Display
As we were heading along the old docks, we came across an Alvis Car Display showing some great vintage automobiles. Pre and Post War time vehicles were on display courtesy of the Alvis Car Club with all vehicles exhibiting great character and classy styling from the circa 1950’s.

This Crown and Anchor Pub has shut up shop... sign of things to come in Adelaide maybe?
Cabot Tower
the tower comprised 86 stairs to the first lookout level, up a spiral staircase, then another 26 steps to the very top through a very narrow spiral stairwell.
The tower opens up to some great views of Bristol and the surrounding land, with a full panoramic view able to be seen from the 4 faces of the tower.
Some facts on the tower:
At 105 feet high, perched amidst floral splendour on top of Brandon Hill, Cabot Tower is a significant landmark visible from many parts of the city.
The top of Brandon Hill is 260 feet above the Harbour.
Cabot Tower was designed by Bristol architect William Venn Gough.
The foundation stone was laid in 1897, the 400th anniversary of the master mariner's voyage to North America. The anniversary is engraved in Roman numerals on each of the four sides of the tower, beneath various crests

During our walk through Brandon Hill Park, we had three different Squirrels sitings... we could get within about 2 metres of each one before they took off into the bushes or up a tree.
